Internal Defects

Overview 

Recent developments in NIR technology have allowed us to measure for internal defects on certain fruit and produce.

This internal defect sorting using NIR is now being highly regarded within the apple, potato, onion and pomegranate industries, with more produce coming on line regularly.

Currently with the Taste Tech T1 NIR model we can successfully test for water-core, internal rot, internal browning and zebra chip.

Below are two images of apples that have been sorted for internal browning by the Taste Tech T1 NIR based on the requirements given to us by our customer.
